TECH TREES is a small, family owned and operated, online container tree/shrub nursery, located in Crofton, Nebraska.  Presently, there is no physical store from which trees are sold locally, as the business is new and does not have technicians to assist with the everyday job of growing more than 100 species of trees and shrubs.  For that reason the Hesse’s have chosen to operate primarily as a mail order business, although trees may be picked up locally.  Please refer to the ordering section for more details regarding ordering.

TECH TREES' nursery grows more than 100 native species.  Seedlings may be planted anytime the soil can be worked and are available when target dimensions are met. Container production of tree and shrub seedlings is expanding because field grown seedlings must be dug in the fall, stored in refrigeration, and then sold and planted in a short period during the following spring.  Digging fall seedlings results in a loss of as much as 90% of the root mass subjecting these seedlings to added stress during their first few years after outplanting.  Seedlings grown properly in containers minimizes the stress of planting but not all container grown trees are “equal”.  

TECH TREES' seedlings are grown to maximize root plug quality with fibrous root systems, which have been inoculated with mycorrhizae to give them the best chance for survival.  To learn more about TECH TREES high growth rate please refer to the Q & A section or contact Larry or Margaret Hesse, owners.
